In a third-world country like Bangladesh, there is a scarcity of online platforms for creative individuals. Such individuals do not receive an education that is relevant with industry developments and global norms. As a creative professional in the same situation, I recognized the necessity to create this software. After conducting extensive user research, I decided on a mobile-first approach. The app has been created with pupils of diverse backgrounds in mind. As a result, a business choice has been taken to keep both free and paid courses on the site. This program has already gone through three iterations, and as they say, a project is never truly complete. All these changes has been done after UX audits so that the functionality is not hampered at all by the design changes. The app is well accepted among the students in the community.

The key success metric of this project was not to design something wonderful to look at but rather something functional and helpful to creative students and professionals. The only way to do that was through proper user research. When designing Protiti, I followed the Double Diamond framework to ensure the platform directly addressed real user needs.

  1. Understanding the Problem (Discover)

I started by researching the frustrations of creative learners. I interviewed users and identified two key personas: Abhijit, a 19-year-old student, struggled with courses that werenā€™t beginner-friendly and lacked structured theoretical learning. Zuha, a 24-year-old creative professional, was frustrated by overpriced courses that failed to provide real industry insights. Both expressed the need for affordable, high-quality courses with real engagement, feedback, and transparency.

  1. Framing the Problem (Define)

From this research, I defined two major challenges:

  • Beginners lack structured, accessible learning paths to help them build a strong foundation.

  • Professionals struggle to find in-depth, high-value content that justifies the cost.

With these insights, my goal became clear: design an inclusive, interactive platform that balances affordability, accessibility, and expert-led creative education.

  1. Designing Solutions (Develop)

With the problem clearly defined, I started designing solutions that would make Protiti stand out:

  • An efficient and intuitive UI that ensures effortless navigation.

  • Two learning pathsā€”one focused on structured, theory-first courses for beginners and another with specialized, industry-driven content for professionals.

  • Flexible pricing, offering free courses and one-time purchases for professional content instead of expensive subscriptions.

  • Interactive features, including real-time feedback, discussion forums, and community engagement to create a more dynamic learning experience.

  1. Testing & Refining the Solution (Deliver)

I tested my designs with real users, gathering feedback to refine the platformā€™s accessibility, course structure, and engagement tools. Based on user input, I optimized navigation, enhanced interactive elements, and made course value clearer. Through continuous iteration, I ensured Protiti truly bridges the gap between affordability, accessibility, and high-quality creative education.

Constraints and lessons:

I started this project at a young age, and one of the biggest challenges was figuring everything out on my own. Being in a developing country made it difficult to conduct a full-scale user research process. I had to make do with online interviews and surveys instead of in-person sessions, adapting to the resources available.. Also, as a designer who just stepped in the world of UI/UX, designs were ā€¦. ermā€¦.not very pleasant to look at

But, Protiti is a passion project thatā€™s constantly evolving. It has already gone through two versions and continues to improve. One of the biggest challenges is keeping the design relevant in an industry thatā€™s always changing. Every time I revisit the project, I bring new skills and insights, finding ways to refine and enhance what Iā€™ve built.
