Swiftwave was absolutely outside of our area of expertise when the client was brought on board. At the time, we had no knowledge of the commercial shipping industry. The learning curve was rather steep. The biggest problem was getting into the mindset of the application's intended user. After many sleepless nights, sticky notes, and module skekches, the two of us arrived at a plan that was ready for discussion with the client. After approval, we began wireframing and designing. We decided that minimalism was the way to go about this. With this approach in mind, the module was created with a limited color palette and plenty of empty space... literally. The design was favorably received by all parties.
